The role of Accounts Payable Assistant is to provide support to Finance department by managing daily accounting tasks.
Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
-Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
-Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
-Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
-Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
-Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
-Updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations
-Examining expenses submitted by employees
-Ensure timely bank payments
-Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
-Assist with other accounting projects
-Perform work safely to protect yourself and others from injury, by avoiding any behaviour that puts yourself or others at risk.
-Follow company’s food safety, environmental and occupational health and safety policy and practices.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
-Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required
-Proven experience as Accountant with minimum of 1-2 years of experience
-Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
-Data Entry Management
-Excellent organizing abilities
-Accuracy and attention to detail
-Deadline-Oriented
