Job Position – Assistant/Junior Accountant

Reporting to: Senior Accountant
Responsible for performing day to day accounting transactions, preparation and posting of primary documents, managing petty cash, bank transactions, reporting and analysis, account reconciliations and supporting with the preparation of monthly accounts.
Job Responsibilities & Duties:
· Preparation and posting of Sales Order Acknowledgements & Sales invoices
· Monitoring customer payments, preparing and sending regular customer Statements and following overdue amounts
· Controlling Purchase Orders, matching and posting of Purchase Invoices
· Day to day management of petty cash, making payments, replenishing cash and posting of all transactions
· Responsible for all banking transaction including preparation of cheque and transfer payments, posting of receipts and bank reconciliation
· Checking all primary documents for VAT compliance
· Preparation of monthly reports including sales analysis, production performance and KPI reports.
· Responsible for maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and posting monthly journal entries.
· Preparation and posting of month end accruals journals.
· Maintenance of prepayments schedule and posting of month end journal.
· Control of customs deposit’s, monitoring repayments and chasing overdue amounts.
· Maintaining Post Dated Cheques schedule and posting necessary journals.
· Maintaining and reconciling Other Debtors and Other Creditors balance sheet accounts.
· Preparation of weekly cash flow report.
· Back up for Senior Accountant in their absence
Candidate skills and experience
· Solid understanding of the basics principles of financial accounting (written theory test will be given at beginning of interview).
· Hands on experience of accounting entries relevant to the job description.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance/ Diploma level or similar.
· Minimum 1-3 years relevant work relevant experience in the UAE, preferably in a production company.
· Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Excel (model preparation will be tested at interview).
· Day to day user of accounting programs such as Xero, Sage or similar.
Other information
· Ready to relocate to Ras Al Khaimah within 6 to 12 months.
· UAE Driving license an advantage.
Salary : 4000-5000 AED/Month, depending on experience.
