Credit Analyst Jobs in Sharjah

JOB PURPOSE-

  • To undertake comprehensive analysis of credit proposals in assigned portfolio and provide recommendations to enable Senior Credit Managers/Regional Credit Head decide on requests for Credit facilities.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Credit Proposal Processing

  • Comprehensive review and risk assessment of assigned credit proposals (i.e. ACFs, FTTs, Memos & other proposals), identifying and analyzing facility requirements in line with Bank’s policy, Central Bank guidelines, structuring of limits, background check of Borrowers’ capabilities, security profile, risk factors/ mitigation, a/c profitability etc.
  • Negotiating revised facility structures, terms and securities to mitigate risk identified.
  • Monitoring the assigned credit portfolio in line with Bank’s policy, with emphasis on conduct of accounts, limits’ utilization, identifying early warning signs if any, recommending corrective measures.
  • Prepare & issue sanction advice / approval memos to Branches, BCC notes.
  • Analyse, verify and approve customer rating in line with customer’s classification and previous year’s risk rating.
  • Maintain customer credit files with all pertinent documents in the relevant sections. Periodically ‘culling’ and updating of volumes and keeping a record of earlier volumes sent to Bank’s external storage.
  • Maintain a regular and timely two-way communication with superiors, team members, CCU, CCO, Risk Management, Business Units/Special Asset Management, Audit, Compliance, Legal and other Departments in the Bank.
  • Discharge other functions that may be assigned from time to time

Reports

¨ Monitor and Analyze the following reports with follow-ups with Business Units for any irregularities:

– Excess over Limit report (daily)

– Expired review date (monthly),

– Valuation reports (monthly),

– 3C report (monthly)

– Mismatch in classification report

– Other Reports as may be required from time to time.

 

  • Follow-up on the internal audit comments/interpretations regarding particular borrowers/credit files and provide adequate responses/solutions with timelines.

 

  • Participation in preparation and review of various reports as may be required eg IFRS9 DCF, LEC, Related Party, etc

People Management

¨ Assist and guide the relationship/Business Units in submitting quality credit proposals in line with Bank’s Policies & Procedures.

¨ Participate in UATs and contribute to system enhancement efforts

Performance Indicators

 

  • Timely, comprehensive and accurate assessments together with quality of analysis submitted.
  • Identification of all material risks and recommendation on mitigants.
  • Adherence to CDT’s TAT for processing credit proposals.
  • All assessments in compliance to the Bank’s policies and Central Bank’s guidelines.
  • No assets booked during the year are classified as non-performing.
  • Time taken to identify potential issues and to initiate corrective measures to mitigate or minimize the risks.
  • Accurate and prompt preparation and issuance of sanction advices and approval memos.
  • Ensuring classification of accounts and ratings are appropriate and recognise the client’s risks profile.
  • Ensure that auditors of the company are as per bank’s internal audit ranking criteria.
  • Ensure all credit files are updated and documents are maintained correctly.
  • Ensure all agreed covenants and follow up actions are executed in a timely manner
  • Regular monitoring and Prompt follow-up with Business Units.
  • Ensure Audit Team observations are tackled with implementation of agreed actions in a timely manner.
  • Communication in a professional manner.
  • Minimal complaints, timely and effective responds to queries and follow ups with Business teams.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or any related discipline
  • 6 – 8 years relevant experience in banking sectors including at least 3 years in positions of progressively increasing responsibilities in Credit Risk Analysis function.
  • In-depth knowledge of the corporate banking sector products and business strategies.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Extensive knowledge of credit policies, and credit management principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of the local and international credit standards and regulations.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation skills
  • Professional certification in Finance, Accounting, Audit or allied.
  • Accreditation as per the Bank’s requirements from time to time
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and in multicultural environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure
