Job Position – Fire Alarm Engineer – Design & Estimation

Seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Engineer with experience in fire alarm system design, estimation, tender analysis, and preferably site execution. The candidate will be responsible for designing fire alarm systems in compliance with local regulations, preparing cost estimates, reviewing tender documents, and supporting installation and commissioning activities on site. This role requires close collaboration with clients, and project execution teams to ensure full compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline
– 4+ years of experience in Fire Alarm System design and project execution in the UAE
– Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defence regulations.
– Experience with AutoCAD and fire alarm design tools.
– Ability to read and interpret tender documents and BOQs.
– Good communication and coordination skills.
Main Responsibilities:
– Design & Engineering
– Prepare fire alarm system designs and layouts in accordance with Civil Defence and international standards such as National Fire Protection Association codes including NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signalling Code.
– Develop shop drawings, schematic diagrams, and as-built drawings.
– Ensure designs comply with local authority regulations and project specifications.
– Estimation & Tendering
– Review and analyse tender documents, BOQ, and technical specifications.
– Prepare cost estimates and material take-offs for fire alarm systems.
– Coordinate with suppliers for technical compliance and pricing.
– Prepare technical and commercial proposals.
– Site Execution & Supervision
– Coordinate with project teams during installation and commissioning of fire alarm systems.
– Provide technical guidance to technicians and subcontractors on site.
– Conduct testing, inspection, and system integration.
– Ensure work complies with Civil Defence approvals and safety standards.
– Attendance of civil defence inspections.
– Documentation & Coordination
– Prepare method statements, technical submittals, and material approvals.
– Liaise with consultants, contractors, and authorities for approvals.-
Maintain project documentation including inspection reports and commissioning records.
Preferred Skills
– Experience with major fire alarm brands such as Edwards, Hochiki, Honeywell, Notifier,
– UAE driving license is an advantage.
