This is an unpaid internship position.
Candidate must have knowledge of powertrain, gearbox design and functionality
If you do not have experience with gearbox design please do not apply.
Responsibilities
- Design gearbox for a helicopter
- Structural stress and thermal FEA modeling and analysis
- GD & T
- Accustomed with bearing selection procedures
- Design coupling between engine and gearbox
- Design for failure modes and effect analysis (DFMEA)
- Create CAD models of parts and sub assemblies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Gearbox transmission, combustion engine fundamentals
- Exposure to failure analysis of gearbox, bearing, axels and drive line components
- Strong knowledge of mechanical parts and computer-aided design
