Key Responsibilities (High Level)
Conduct independent compliance and assurance audits on:
Critical safety procedures
High-risk operational SOPs, SMPs, and TRAs
Permit to Work (PTW) systems
Contractor safety management
OHSMS / HSE Management Systems
Perform post-incident audits (Fatalities, LTI, HPNM) to verify:
Root cause robustness
Adequacy and effectiveness of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
Execute CAPA verification audits and governance follow-ups
Support ESG and Safety Governance reporting through audit insights
Assess compliance with:
ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
Local legal requirements (ADOSH, Dubai Municipality, UAE regulations)
Life-Saving Rules and critical risk controls
Lead strong audit governance and stakeholder engagement, including:
Clear and structured audit report writing
Leading opening and closing meetings
Coordination with senior leadership across Operations, Maintenance, ESG, HC, Supply Chain, and other functions to ensure ownership and implementation of audit actions
Demonstrate data and systems competency, including:
SAP and Power BI
Safety data analysis
Advanced working knowledge of MS Office tools for evidence-based reporting
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent)
Certified Lead Auditor – ISO 45001
(ISO 14001 certification is preferred)
Strong working knowledge of:
ADOSH requirements
Dubai Municipality / UAE HSE legal framework
Experience Requirements
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in HSE auditing or safety governance
Proven audit experience in heavy or high-risk industries, such as:
Aluminium or steel smelters
Energy, Oil & Gas
Petrochemical or large process industries
Demonstrated experience in:
Governance-level audits (not limited to site inspections)
High-risk operations and process safety environments
Post-incident and serious event audit reviews
