Job Position – Junior Private Chef

A private family in Dubai is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Chef to join their household culinary team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, eager to learn, and passionate about authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, with the ability to cook wholesome, traditional dishes “like grandma did.” This role requires someone with both restaurant experience and private household cooking exposure, or a strong desire to transition into the private sector.
The Junior Chef will support the Head/Executive Chef while also preparing family-style meals with a focus on quality, tradition, and fresh ingredients. The position involves occasional international travel with the family.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare daily meals for the family, focusing on Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.
Cook traditional, home-style dishes with care and authenticity.
Assist in menu planning, grocery shopping, and sourcing high-quality ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the kitchen at all times.
Work alongside and support the Head/Executive Chef.
Cater to special dietary requirements and preferences of family members.
Adapt to family routines and schedules, providing flexibility for meal times.
Travel with the family several times a year to assist with meal preparation in other residences.
Skills & Requirements
Professional culinary training and/or proven experience in restaurants.
Experience cooking for a private family (or a strong willingness to transition into the private sector).
Solid knowledge of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines.
Ability to prepare traditional, hearty, and home-style dishes with skill and passion.
Proactive, efficient, and willing to learn under guidance.
Good communication skills in English.
Well-groomed, polite, and professional demeanor.
Flexible to work long hours and travel internationally when required.
Strong organizational skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
