Our client is now recruiting for a Network Engineer- GNOC. You will be directly reporting to the Lead Network Engineer- GNOC

Role Specific Descriptor

The Network Engineer- GNOC is primarily responsible for completing the technical support tickets as allocated to you.

The role reports directly to the Lead Network Engineer- GNOC.

This role requires a passionate, self-motivated, serviced focused individual with a broad technical knowledge of active network equipment and strong verbal and written English who is adept at following documented technical process and communicating

As our operation supports business critical data networks 24-hours a day, and your role may from time to time require shift work and after-hour on-call responsibilities.

Proactive focus of the role

• Raise any customer, support or technical issues that is not aligned to the site documentation to the matter can be addressed.

Key role specific tasks

We aim to be the industry leader in supporting end to end data network for the hospitality, retail, aged care and education sectors where the delivered network is required to support multiple IP services and where casual visitor and business functions co-exist on the same network.

The following tasks are carried out by the role:

Daily Tasks

Administration

• Stay on top of electronic communication

• Attend Informal and ad-hoc meetings as scheduled

• Complete Autotask service tickets following the process you have been trained on

• Collaborate with other engineers for issue resolution

• Escalate issues to the Lead Network Engineer- GNOC and GM-GNOC if appropriate

• Record time in Autotask accurately and against the correct categories

• Monitor Autotask for site outages

• Participate in an on call after hours schedule

• Monitor MS Teams for messages pertaining to the GNOC

Ad-hoc Tasks

HR

• Attend training provided when scheduled

Operations

• Provide timely response to all incidents, outages and performance alerts.

• Categorize issues for escalation to appropriate teams

• Provide Second level support for our clients.

• Recognize, identify and prioritize incidents in accordance with business requirements, organizational policies and SLA.

• Collect and review performance reports for various systems, and report trends in hardware and application performance to assist senior technical personnel to predict future issues or trending.

• Monitor a wide variety of information and network systems that include, but are not limited to LAN systems, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless equipment, core linux servers, core applications

• Document all actions in accordance with standard company policies and procedures

• Work with internal and external technical and service teams to install the company solution.

• Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks (installation of patches, network connectivity testing, script execution, etc.)

• Practice active listening of team members, clients and suppliers to support our product and service refinement

Review site audits that have been prepared for GNOC handover

• Complete documentation following the process you have been trained on

• Liaise with 3rd party on site support when required
