Job Position – Senior Backend Engineer

Company Name – Marc Ellis

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Contract: 12 Months (Extendable)

Key Responsibilities:
– Design and deliver backend services end-to-end, including APIs, data models, deployment, and observability.
– Ensure production reliability through monitoring, incident management, and on-call support.
– Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
– Build scalable services across SaaS, on-premises, and disconnected environments.
– Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams.
– Leverage LLMs and modern AI tools to enhance development and platform capabilities.

Key Requirements:
– 5–8 years of backend engineering experience with proven service ownership.
– Strong proficiency in Python (preferred), Go, or Java, including asynchronous programming.
– Strong knowledge of distributed systems, backend architecture, and system design.
– Hands-on experience with caching, queues, retries, idempotency, and observability.
– Experience in production support, incident management, and on-call rotations.
– Experience with SaaS and on-premises deployments.
