The onsite Service Engineer partners with customers to install and maintain all hardware including customer troubleshooting and complaint resolution.

Why You

As onsite S ervice E ngineer, you will lead the customer experience by providing on-site service . This includes dealing with installations as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service and repair of complex equipment and systems .

You’ll be working closely with your customers, providing a dedicated service as well as liaising with your colleagues (field or office based) to provide timely onsite technical assistance. Furthermore, as part of a virtual extended team you will be contributing to enable all field service engineers to meet customer expectations aiming to enhance the customer experience and further cement customer relationships.

This role is based onsite at our customer in Abu Dhabi, however will require 30% regional travel.

The role

As onsite Support Engineer, you will be our contact for your customers during the pre-sales and installation stage as well as providing ongoing support. Y ou will help broker strong relationships with your customers providing installations and basic troubleshooting. You will have great communication, time management and collaboration skills. You will establish relationships across district Service and Support teams, Sales and Customer Service.

Responsibilities

Will Include

  • Interface between the field organization and internal support structure by providing timely onsite technical assistance to Customers, Field Applications Scientist/Specialists, and Territory Account Managers
  • Complete and remain compliant on all assigned trainings and certifications
  • Attain technical competence, with assistance, while installing, upgrading repairing, and maintaining instrument systems in defined territory
  • Remain compliant and up to date with Service and training manuals, Field Service Bulletins, SOPs and facilitate remote connectivity to customer instrumentation
  • Understand and act on technical needs of customers with assistance
  • Coordinate and prioritize with assistance, service requests to establish best intervention method and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure proper inventory levels and control accuracy of service parts to promote efficiency
  • Develop relationships with sales and marketing staff to facilitate sales opportunities
  • Establish relationships with key customers and existing customer base to ensure their success utilizing our products and services
  • With assistance, develop effective problem resolution relationships with subsidiary or distributor support

Preferred Background, Skills And Experience

  • Ability to operate as an independent contributor and as a cooperative member of a team
  • Extensive problem -solving ability
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Extensive technical writing abilities
  • Demonstrated aptitude of optical alignments, robotics, electrical/electronics, or mechanical systems
  • Extensive k nowledge and skills typically acquired through previous positions which involved responsibility for similar work
  • Extensive knowledge of genomics, sequencing applications, and bioinformatics
  • Extensive knowledge of general environmental health and safety practices
