Will be responsible for managing all warehouse and inventory operations, ensuring accurate reporting, efficient materials handling, and adherence to company policies. The role is crucial in maintaining optimal stock levels, supporting production needs, and driving data-driven decision-making through KPI tracking and performance reports.
Key responsibilities:
Inventory & Warehouse Management
-Oversee daily operations of the stores/warehouse, ensuring timely receipt, storage, and issuance of materials (steel, consumables, tools, etc.).
-Maintain accurate stock records in ERP or inventory software.
-Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and physical verifications.
KPI Monitoring & Reporting
Prepare and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
-Inventory turnover ratio
-Stock ageing
-Material issuance accuracy
-Stock variance percentage
-Delivery lead time
Generate weekly/monthly reports to management and suggest corrective actions where needed.
Process compliance
-Implement and follow SOPs for store operations including receiving, issuing, and documentation.
-Ensure materials are stored safely and efficiently, complying with HSE and quality guidelines.
-Coordinate with procurement, production, and accounts departments for timely material movement and documentation.
Team coordination
-Supervise and guide storekeepers and helpers.
-Provide training to store team members on process adherence, system usage, and safety.
ERP & System Usage
-Ensure all stock transactions are recorded real-time in ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally).
-Raise GRNs, MRNs, and track requisitions within the system.
Required qualifications and skills:
-Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
-5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a steel or industrial manufacturing environment.
-Proficient in ERP systems and MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
-Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse best practices.
-Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of preparing actionable reports.
-Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
