Job Position – Technical Manager
Company Name – Arco Interiors
Location : Abu Dhabi
The role involves managing engineering tasks for the technical team, including consultant & stakeholder management, technical reviews, advisory on design & technical quality, functionality, engineering, statutory considerations, constructability & deliverable completeness. It also includes conducting designs, documentation, technical analysis & management, as directed by the line manager. The role typically oversees three or more complex & atypical projects.
Key responsibilities
-Oversee & manage the technical aspects of interior & fit-out projects.
-Handle daily technical management of interior design project scope, budgets & schedules.
-Guide & advise the technical team throughout the construction process.
-Perform technical activities across various projects within the technical team.
-Conduct technical reviews of engineering submissions, coordination & statutory issues while adhering to budgets & timelines.
-Assess design changes & recommend appropriate actions.
-Ensure project compliance with design specifications & quality standards.
-Manage & maintain project schedules & approvals.
-Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, architects, engineers, consultants & clients to provide necessary information during the design & build process.
-Manage multiple stakeholders & build robust, long-term relationships with integrated teams.
-Conduct & attend regular meetings to review procedures & address project-related technical issues.
-Collaborate with Project Managers & Construction Managers for coordination.
-Troubleshoot & resolve technical issues that arise during project execution.
-Organize or attend site visits as required.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited institution.
-13 to 15 years of experience in an architectural or interior design organization, with a focus on fit-out projects, including at least 5 years in the UAE.
-Proven track record in managing large-scale projects & leading design & technical teams.
-Strong technical expertise in interior design, materials & construction methods.
-Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
-Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
-Outstanding organizational, communication & leadership skills.
-Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal & external stakeholders.
-Capacity to make informed & timely decisions that contribute to project success.
-Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Photoshop, Revit) & Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
-Experience with BIM projects is a plus.
-Knowledge of sustainability standards such as LEED and WELL is advantageous.
