Who are we?

noon is a fast-growing e-commerce venture in the Middle East with a committed capital of $1 billion. We aim to develop a world-class ecosystem in the Middle East.

To achieve this goal, noon has built end-to-end in-house capabilities across all verticals.

After launching in 2017, we are now looking for aggressive scaling strategies to maximize our customer reach and product offerings.

As part of this strategy, we have acquired a fashion vertical called SIVVI, which will be a key revenue and profitability driver for the business.

We will build SIVVI into a trendy premium branded fashion destination for the GCC region.

We have also set up a dedicated team to manage our fashion assortment across SIVVI & Noon.

As a Head of Technology, you will be joining a mission to help us build the largest e-commerce fashion business in the region.

You will be leading and designing the technology & product roadmap for our customer platforms both web & app as well as for internal systems and tools.

As we are still a startup at the core, we are looking for somebody deeply passionate and committed to making an impactful contribution to the region.

 

Key Responsibilities  

 

  • Provide technical direction and ongoing leadership for the tech & product team. At the same time, you will closely collaborate with the wider engineering leadership team at noon.
  • Create and maintain strategic and tactical operations, resource plans, goals, and priorities for your function based on business and technology roadmaps and functional objectives.
  • Provide clarity to the team to help them understand the product strategy and technology roadmaps and OKRs.
  • Mentoring and coaching technical talent including Software Engineers, QA engineers, Product Managers, UX/UI Designers
  • Drive proof of concepts, pilots, and technology evaluations to accelerate the development of the customer shopping experience on the Sivvi app
  • Work with Business teams to understand the entire customer journey on Sivvi and build the best in case features to maximize revenue and conversion
  • Empower team members to make recommendations and provide input driving a highly collaborative environment.
  • Actively contribute to the e-commerce business plan in collaboration with the other functions establishing the tech & product vision for the fashion business.
  • Procure and roll out an ERP system and merchant tools to better support the team on planning, forecasting, pricing, order writing, product information, and reporting.
  • Work closely with the wider noon tech team to understand priorities and inter-dependent initiatives by coordinating with other technology teams in the Noon ecosystem
  • Understand the potential use of new technologies, vendor capabilities, or industry best practices & trends.
  • Implemented Technology in alignment with our customer and business needs.

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Proven experience working in a  technology leadership role for an eCommerce company (10+ years)
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) leading and managing technical teams and technical leaders
  • Experience mentoring & coaching distributed tech & product teams
  • A proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Deep knowledge of technology, a solid understanding of software development in different areas, and overseeing, managing, and bringing together all technology domains.
  • Strong People Management skills
  • Experience managing multiple and complex stakeholders
  • Excellent communication
  • You have a strong customer focus when building and designing systems
  • Ideally, you grew from an engineer to a team lead to a leader of leaders in a tech-centric environment
