Oman Airports is a state-owned company that manages all the airports of the Sultanate including Muscat International Airport, Duqm Airport, Suhar Airport, Salalah Airport. The Company has also expanded it services to include the management and operation of the PDO regional airports in the oil concession areas of Fahud, Marmul, and Qarn Alam .
Oman Airports is driven by an ultimate aim to improve its position and services in order to meet its aspirations in supporting Oman’s national visions by enhancing the airports and improving the overall travel experience.

Oman Airports is a government company affiliated with the Oman Investment Authority, established in 2002 for the purpose of the administration of civil airports in the Sultanate of Oman: Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, Duqm Airport, and Sohar Airport.
The company expanded its services in 2019 to include the administration of regional airports in the oil concession areas of Fahud, Marmul, and Qarn Alam.
The company operates with the objective to upgrade and enhance Oman’s airports in order to achieve the desired goals, as well as ensure a safe and unique travel experience for all users of its airports.

TRANSOM Handling
A subsidiary of Oman Airports since 2021.
TRANSOM Handling is the first provider of ground handling services, providing an integrated set of the best and finest ground services that meet all the requirements and aspirations of guests of the Sultanate’s airports, under the administration and coordination of a distinguished team trained according to the highest levels of customer service to provide a variety of high quality and luxurious services with and the highest applicable standards of accuracy and safety.
TRANSOM Handling aspires to provide the highest level of ground handling and hospitality services to 32 of its clients from airlines and to contract with various commercial airlines at all airports in the Sultanate, including Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, Sohar Airport, Duqm Airport, as well as oilfield airports.
TRANSOM Handling strives to provide its exquisite services to ensure its customers and passengers have comfortable flights at all airports.

A subsidiary of Oman Airports since 2021.
TRANSOM sats Cargo is a cargo handling company at Muscat International Airport and has an excellent record of professional and high-quality service standards, supported by an automated system for cargo handling, modern equipment and facilities, experienced staff, and high standards of security, which in turn ensures timely and efficient services provided to clients.

Initially formed in 1970 focusing on ground handling, cargo, catering and engineering services. In 2020, the Company officially rebranded to Transom Handling to better reflect and redefine its business aspiration, pursue the objective of being a global benchmark in hospitality and elevate Oman’s aviation industry to soaring new heights.
Transom Handling offers its extensive range of Ground Handling and Hospitality services to more than 30 airline customers and to charter commercial airlines across all airports in the Sultanate of Oman, which includes Muscat International Airport (MCT), Salalah International Airport (SLL), Sohar Airport (OHS), Duqm Airport (DQM), as well as the oil field airports.

TRANSOM CATERING
TRANSOM Catering, provides catering services to all International and Domestic Airlines from Muscat International Airport and also offers Non-Aviation Catering Services.
Its new outstanding facilities were launched in 2020, a noteworthy improvement for the organization. It is the biggest kitchen in the Sultanate of Oman, three times bigger than its predecessor. Designed to meet stringent HACCP & ISO requirements, each section of our kitchen is designed in a way that promotes efficiency in product flow during the preparation and dish-out phases of meal production.
This new facility is a state of the art kitchen, with the latest technology, laundry, and laboratory equipment and is one of the most advanced in the Gulf region. The facility is maintained to the highest standards by our internal team of engineers and technicians working 24-hours a day to ensure premium levels of service delivery. A modern fleet of air-conditioned high loaders and chiller vans are available to ensure adequate allocations to each aircraft throughout even the busiest of schedules.
Our team is very diverse which gives us the “edge” when developing and producing menus for our widely international clientele. We believe we offer authenticity and quality consistently throughout our varied product offering.
Our new high bay storage is equipped with upgraded warehouse management systems, electronic machinery, Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Truck and other technological enhancements, with a storing capacity of 3,544 pallets. The storage chiller has a huge capacity which is built as a high bay pallet chiller and operated with the VNA machines. Two large capacity freezers with two levels (Ground and Level 1). Spacious Duty-free storage, available for storing and packing duty free items for onboard sale.
TRANSOM Catering, was previously certified in ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2005 by Intertek Certification Body and currently we are upgrading the Quality systems of TRANSOM Catering to IMS (Integrated Management System) which covers, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 10001:2018, ISO 22000:2018 and ISO 17025:2017 Consultancy with Total Quality Consultancy in Muscat, Oman.
We are an approved High Field Training Center and part of our team is certified by Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), which is one of UK’s leading awarding organizations.
Currently, we are expanding our capabilities and supplement it to the fisheries industry in order to promote and enhance the export of Omani premium quality fish.
The overall services provided by TRANSOM Catering, comprises of Catering Services to Airlines, VIP & Executive Flights, Private & Corporate Events, Airport Lounges – Oman Air Business Class Lounge & Majan Lounge, Staff Canteens. Our other services include Quality Assurance, Transportation & Logistics, Equipment Ware wash, Airline Cargo Clearing & Handling, Laundry, Storage Facilities and Fish Processing.
TRANSOM Catering, offers a fine selection of menus specially prepared to meet the satisfaction of all customers and passengers. All meals provided are Halal and prepared with the best ingredients in a meticulous manner.
TRANSOM Catering, also offers a wide range of the following meals for passengers following a specific diet, wherein the orders must be placed at the time of booking the flights.
2) Cargo Handling
Transom SATS cargo is the sole cargo-handling agent at Muscat International Airport. Transom SATS cargo has an excellent record of professional and high-quality service standards. Backed by an automated cargo handling system, state-of-the art equipment and facilities, highly skilled and trained staff, and high standards of security, Transom SATS cargo provides and ensures expeditious and efficient services to its valued customers.
Service & Facility Highlights
- Provides 24-hour services for import and export cargo.
- Utilizes an automated cargo system for documentation, warehousing, exports cargo acceptance and imports cargo delivery purposes.
- Has a round-the-clock breakdown and build-up of cargo and mail.
- Includes cold storage and freezer-storage facilities.
- Has a storage for dangerous and hazardous cargo.
- Separates storage facilities for newspapers, diplomatic and postal mails.
- Provides electronic weighing scales for accurate calculations of weight capacities.
- Undergoes cargo x-raying for safety and security purposes, under the strict supervision of Airport Security.
- Provides road feeder service to various airlines.
- Provides Freight Status Updates (FSU) messaging requirements for airlines.
3) Line Maintenance
Oman Air provides ground-handling line maintenance at Muscat International Airports. Established in 1981, Oman Air has an excellent record of professional and high-quality service standards. The company places high importance on customer service, which led the company to receive the ISO 9001 award certificate in 2000.
Third-Party and Technical Support Section provides since 1981 technical ground handling services to all wide & narrow-body aircraft landing at Muscat International Airport by maintaining the highest safety standards and practices.
The services are provided to the customer airlines in accordance with the IATA Standard Ground Handling B2 & Aircraft certification B3 Agreements.
4) Fuel Suppliers
As per the development drive, the Sultanate’s Government built state-of-the-art fuel farms at Muscat, Salalah, Suhar, and Duqm Airports with new Fuel Hydrant System. Oman Airports is responsible for managing and supervising the aviation fuel suppliers in all four commercial Airports and Oilfield airports at Fahud, Marmul and Qarn Alam, to ensures that fuel services are provided in a professional, efficient, prompt, and courteous manner to all airports users while maintaining high standards of service.
Currently, there are three local fuel service providers operating at Oman Airports; Shell Oman Marketing Co., Oman Oil Marketing Co., and Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Co.
The aviation industry depends on access to the highest quality fuels and lubricants. Therefore, supplying Jet A-1 safely and securely is a top priority for service providers. From receiving to storage, and right down fueling the aircraft, every stage is accounted for through stringent refuelling procedures. This also includes an end-to-end fuel quality assurance system, from the refinery to aircraft and Oman Airports’ fuel suppliers take into consideration the most important procedures and best practices within the fuel supply chain such as Quality, Safety, Health and Environment.
5) Flight Approvals
Muscat International Airport is designated as IATA Level 2 Schedule Facilitated Airport. Level 2 airport is classified as the potential for congestion during some periods of the day, weeks, or season which can be resolved by schedule adjustments mutually agreed between the airline and the facilitator.
Salalah, Suhar, and Duqm Airports are IATA Level 1 Schedule Facilitated Airports which means the Schedule is collected for information purposes.
Oman Airports appointed Airport Coordination Limited (ACL) as its Slot Facilitator for these Airports.
