Job Position – Senior Quantity Surveyor
Company Name – MEC Emirates
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Key Responsibilities
– Perform precise material take-offs, volume calculations, and detailed cost estimations using PlanSwift and Bluebeam Revu for structural, architectural, and civil works.
– Prepare, review, and evaluate Bills of Quantities (BOQ), interim payment applications (IPCs), variations, and final accounts for main contractors and sub-contractors.
– Manage commercial contracts, sub-contractor agreements, and tender documentation in accordance with standard UAE principles (FIDIC/POMI).
– Track project cash flows, monthly cost-to-complete analyses, budget variances, and cost control reports.
– Evaluate, negotiate, and substantiate variation orders, claims, and contractual disputes with consultants and clients.
– Conduct site measurements and progress verifications alongside site civil engineers to validate payment claims.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
Experience: Minimum 8–12 years of experience in quantity surveying and commercial management in the UAE construction sector.
Mandatory Requirements: Proven track record on High-Rise Building Projects in the UAE AND strong hands-on proficiency in PlanSwift and Bluebeam Revu.
Skills: Expert command of PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu, MS Excel (advanced), and BOQ management software.
Thorough knowledge of UAE commercial practices, FIDIC contracts, principles of measurement (POMI/RICS), and Abu Dhabi authority standards.
Strong negotiation, cost management, and clear written/verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
