Job Position – VMware Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Implementation: Design, deploy, and configure VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual networking/storage components, based on organizational requirements and industry best practices.

Virtual Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain VMware infrastructure, including virtual machines, clusters, resource pools, and distributed switches, to ensure optimal performance, availability, and scalability.

Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze virtual infrastructure performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies to enhance system performance and efficiency.

Security and Compliance: Implement security controls and measures to protect virtualized environments from security threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance risks. Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Backup and Disaster Recovery: Configure and manage VMware backup and disaster recovery solutions, such as VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and VMware vSphere Data Protection (VDP), to ensure data protection and business continuity.

Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve issues related to VMware infrastructure, virtual machines, and associated components. Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users as needed.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document VMware configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to promote continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional) preferred.
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing VMware vSphere environments in enterprise-scale environments.
Deep understanding of VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter Server, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, and vRealize Suite.
Strong knowledge of virtual networking, storage, and security concepts, as well as related protocols and technologies (e.g., VLANs, NFS, iSCSI, SSL/TLS).
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerCLI, vSphere API, Ansible) for infrastructure management and automation.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in virtualized environments.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
