1.   Job Description:

We are looking to recruit a Sr. Engineer- Fabrication for a role that comprises of overlooking Production and Productivity and supporting the Quality Control.

The primary product being refurbished and manufactured is Heat Exchangers, primarily Shell and Tube and Finned Tube Exchangers.

The workshop is an ASME ‘U’ and NBIC ‘R’ Stamped facility.

To ensure the revenues of the workshop are met along with the profitability targets.

To manage the day to day activities of the workshop and ensure

that all the jobs handled are completed on time, within the cost allocated, complies with the quality while maintaining a safe working environment.

 

Report to: Sr. Manager-Technical

 

Supervises:

1.     Supervisors – Various (Fabrication, Servicing, Maintenance)

2.   Job Responsibilities:

 

 

Production:

 

  1. Contribute to Estimation and Proposals in defining the objectives (cost, quality, timelines), methods and means (raw materials, human resources).
  2. Plan, Monitor and Document the Maintenance of the Production Facility. Ensure machinery and equipment is serviced on regular basis and maintained in good working order. Maintaining a log of production and machinery maintenance.
  3. Planning of all resources (Manpower, materials, machinery, Preparation of BOQ) and ensuring production progresses in a timely manner, by most efficient and economical method, to ensure customer commitments are met.

4.     Check workshop employees are clocking in and out for their shift periods, observing and analyzing and reporting their productivity and performance.

5.     Enforce and implement the ISO 90001:2015 Quality Management

  1. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment according to the requirements of the ISO 14001, 18001 and the company’s H+S Policy.
  2. Ensure Apprentices receive adequate training and monitor / report on their performance.
  3. Control and monitor the issue of protective clothing.
  4. Attend and contribute to production meetings.

10.  Liaise closely with all departments on fulfilling delivery requirement

11.  Supervise operations for process improvement and product quality assurance.

12.  Follow-up with the Procurement Department for Material Deliveries.

13.  Coordinate with Stores to ascertain what materials of the BOQ are already in stock.

14.  Participating in the Engineering and Design process.

15.  Must be able to manage the facilities alongside the workshop and ensure compliance to all regulatory authorities.

16.  To generate business for the workshop services, by direct interactions with new clients for new business and existing clients for repeat business. Reduce Customer Complaints and Rework orders, increase repeat business, achieve targeted customer visits

17.  Act as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as requested.

18.  Support the Project Engineers and to assist with build plans, engineering specifications, parts supply, build methodologies and quality inspections.

19.  Organizing the Training and development of all technical staff and work force.

20.  Anticipates bottlenecks, clarifies project priorities, identifies risks, and escalates issues that cannot be internally resolved.

 

3.   Job Accountabilities:

 

  1. Maximize utility and Minimize wastage of all resources.
  2. Provide the necessary competent technical assistance to the workforce in order to complete a job in time, under budget and with required standard of quality.
  3. Monitor the workforce and maintain their productivity.
  4. Maintain and adhere to our QA/QC requirements.
  5. Monitor and track the traceability of all materials.

 

4.   Reporting and Documentation:

 

  1. Approve Daily PTWs
  2. Approve Daily timesheets with project code allocations.
  3. Host Daily meeting with Engineering and Procurement Teams.
  4. Review and Supervise the preparation of monthly Production Forecast Report, and update on a daily basis.
  5. Review and Supervise the preparation weekly Project Progress (in-house) Report
  6. Fill Monthly target date on projects (in-house) for revenue forecast purposes.
  7. Review the Technical Delivery Conditions and lead times Purchase Orders.
  8.  IFA and IFC drawings
  9. RFI schedules and visits
  10. Preparation of Methods Statements and Work Procedures.
  11. Review and Approve the client DGS requirement, and raise an exclusions or concessions.
  12. Review and Approve MR to stores and Job Issue from Stores.
  13. Prepare Annual Performance Evaluation Reports.

 

5.   Required Qualifications:
Education:

 

  1. Minimum Diploma, B.Tech, or B.Eng (Mechanical Engineering)
  2. Knowledge of API 660, 661, 650
  3. In-depth Knowledge of TEMA Standards
  4. In-depth Knowledge of NBIC Code
  5. Knowledge in ASME Sec.VIII Div.1

 

Experience:

 

  1. A minimum of 2 years in the last 4 years at an ASME U Stamp manufacturing Heat Exchanger Shop.
  2. A minimum of 6 years in Fabrication/production of Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Structural Fabrication, Light Fabrication and Heat Exchangers, piping spools and Machining.

 

3.   Required Skills:

 

  1. Good Working Knowledge of Windows office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  2. Ability to review schedules on MS Projects or Primavera
  3. Experience in reviewing drawings on Autocad.
  4. Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  5. Written – Writes clearly and informatively with a high level of sophistication; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret complex written information.
  6. Ability to motivate, regulate and develop Supervisory and Craftsmen.
