Job Position – Junior System Administrator

Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with common operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Exposure to scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools and backup software.
Experience: 2+ years of experience as System administrator
Responsibilities:
• System Installation & Configuration: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers (Windows/Linux), workstations, and other IT infrastructure components. Help configure and deploy operating systems, software, and hardware components for end-users and IT systems. Support the setup of network and security configurations, including firewalls and VPNs.
• System Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor system performance, identify issues, and assist with troubleshooting hardware and software problems. Perform regular system maintenance tasks such as patch management, updates, and backups. Assist in ensuring systems and services are operating efficiently and reliably.
• User Support & Administration: Provide first-level support for end-users regarding issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity. Help manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in active directory or other directory services. Assist in onboarding new employees with IT-related tasks, including account creation, workstation setup, and application installation.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Assist with performing regular backups and ensuring data is securely stored and can be recovered in case of system failures. Help test disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity during incidents.
• Security & Compliance: Help implement and maintain security policies, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls. Assist in monitoring for security vulnerabilities, applying patches, and implementing security updates as necessary. Work with senior administrators to ensure the systems comply with relevant security standards and regulations.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps. Document and log incidents, issues, and resolutions for future reference and knowledge sharing. Generate basic system reports related to performance, backups, and security.
• Collaboration & Learning: Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth and seamless integration of IT systems. Continuously develop technical skills and gain experience in system administration, security practices, and IT infrastructure management. Work with senior system administrators and engineers to solve complex technical problems and learn from their expertise.
