Job Position – Network Engineer
Company Name – Flint International
Location – Dubai
Key Responsibilities
• Administer and operate network performance monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds and Riverbed NetIM
• Configure and manage SNMP polling, device onboarding, health checks, thresholds, and alerts
• Monitor network availability, latency, utilization, and performance trends to proactively detect issues
• Analyze network and application performance using protocol-level understanding (TCP, UDP, HTTP, DNS, SSL/TLS)
• Work on incidents using BMC ITSM, including investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution coordination
• Raise and manage change requests in BMC ITSM, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and implementation support
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) using monitoring data and historical trends
• Develop and maintain Linux shell and Python scripts to automate monitoring tasks and operational activities
• Collaborate with Network, Security, Server, and Application teams to improve observability and reduce MTTR
• Maintain monitoring documentation, standards, dashboards, and operational procedures
Required Experience & Technical Skills
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Network Performance Monitoring or monitoring-focused roles
• Strong hands-on experience with SNMP-based monitoring tools, such as:
SolarWinds
Riverbed NetIM (or equivalent NMS tools)
• Background in Linux and Windows server administration (to support monitoring platforms; not a primary admin role)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Linux shell scripting and Python scripting
• Hands-on experience with BMC ITSM, including:
Incident management
Change request creation and coordination
• Strong understanding of networking and application protocols, including:
TCP / UDP
SSL / TLS
HTTP / HTTPS
DNS
