We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our design studio team and lead all cost management and estimation activities throughout the design and pre-construction stages.
You will be responsible for providing accurate cost advice, preparing detailed estimates, managing budgets, and ensuring design concepts align with financial objectives. You will work closely with architects, designers, and engineers to deliver cost-effective solutions without compromising design intent or quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates during concept, schematic, and detailed design stages.
Develop cost plans, feasibility studies, and budget forecasts based on design data.
Review design drawings and specifications to identify cost impacts and value engineering opportunities.
Collaborate with design teams to provide ongoing cost advice during project development.
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and bid evaluations.
Monitor and control project budgets throughout design progression.
Conduct value engineering workshops and propose cost-effective alternatives.
Assess and manage design changes, variations, and associated cost implications.
Liaise with procurement and project management teams to align cost objectives.
Prepare cost reports, cash flow projections, and management presentations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 12+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within a design or consultancy environment.
Strong knowledge of design-stage cost planning, estimation, and tendering procedures.
Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar).
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail with strong commercial and technical acumen.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
