You as an Industrial Cybersecurity Engineer, will be part of the Middle East Collaborative Operations Center, which is responsible for providing expert technical support to customers in the region. The Hitachi ABB Power division delivers solutions across the power value chain. Including system solutions for power generation, transmission technologies, substations, and distribution technologies for network management.

Your Responsibilities

  • Acting as a cybersecurity technical expert for Hitachi ABB PowerGrid’s in the Middle East
  • Troubleshooting and technical support case resolution for Hitachi ABB PowerGrid’s technologies, both on-site and through secure remote access.
  • Designing and configuring substation automation systems, including Active Directory, DNS, Next-Generation Firewalls, IDS, Anti-Malware/Application Control and Patch Management systems.
  • Providing advanced engineering services to customers such as security audits, upgrades, and training.
  • Working with the tendering team to understand end client’s specifications/practices related to cybersecurity and prepare technical solutions meeting customer requirements.
  • Promoting and driving pre-qualification of Hitachi ABB Power Grids technologies to customers.
  • Developing the overall cybersecurity competence of Hitachi ABB PowerGrid’s’ people in the Middle East through training, support and preparation of guidelines.
  • Leading or support the development of new technology. Keep abreast of latest trends in the field of industrial cybersecurity.
  • Driving implementation of, and compliance to, requirements from IEC 62443 / ISO 2700x / NESA standards.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in Cyber security.
  • Experience in industrial control systems security for the Oil & Gas/Energy industry. Experience with Substation Automation systems an advantage.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity technology, solutions and processes including international standards such as IEC 62443 and ISO 2700x.
  • Knowledge of the design, deployment, and maintenance of industrial security best practices, including, but not limited to, risk and vulnerability assessments, boundary protection, zoning, system hardening, RBAC, and SIEM.
  • Analytical, technical thinking with a focus on detail and willingness to take ownership when solving complex issues.
  • Ability to travel up-to 20%
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required. Arabic is a plus.
