Job Position: School Social Counselor

Seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated School Social Counselor to join our educational team. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about student well-being, safeguarding, and fostering a positive school culture that enables every student to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students through counseling, early intervention, safeguarding initiatives, and collaboration with parents, teachers, and external agencies while ensuring compliance with KHDA and UAE Ministry of Education standards.
Key Responsibilities
– Provide professional individual and group counseling to students facing academic, behavioral, emotional, or social challenges.
– Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and monitor student progress through structured follow-up.
– Lead student well-being initiatives, awareness campaigns, and preventive programs covering mental health, bullying prevention, child protection, digital safety, life skills, and emotional resilience.
– Work closely with school leadership, teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure comprehensive student support.
– Maintain confidential student records and prepare professional reports in accordance with KHDA and UAE regulatory requirements.
– Participate actively in Child Protection, Student Welfare, Safeguarding, Risk Management, and Student Discipline Committees.
– Identify students requiring additional support and coordinate timely referrals to appropriate services.
– Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Experience
– Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline.
– Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a School Social Counselor, School Counselor, or Student Welfare Officer.
– Previous experience in a UAE school is highly desirable.
– Strong understanding of KHDA, UAE Ministry of Education regulations, safeguarding policies, and child protection procedures.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– High level of professionalism, empathy, integrity, and confidentiality.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and professional report writing.
– Fluency in English is essential. Arabic language skills will be an added advantage.
