Responsibilities
- Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role.
- Design and implement database in accordance to end users information needs and views.
- Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in the appropriate format and in a timely manner.
- Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
- Develop guidelines for system implementation.
- Develop performance metrics or standards related to information technology.
- Coordinate project activities with other personnel or departments.
- Read documents to gather technical information.
- Estimate time or monetary resources needed to complete projects.
- Train others in computer interface or software use.
- Coordinate software or hardware installation.
- Develop detailed project plans.
- Analyze data to identify trends or relationships among variables.
- Analyze market or customer-related data.
- Production-support for Oracle E-Business Applications and other Oracle environments.
- Tuning of Oracle E-Business Application (EBS) environments is necessary.
- Troubleshooting problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
- Cloning of EBS systems and automation procedures.
- Patch assessment and application in an Oracle EBS environment.
- Application tier cloning.
- Coordinating OS upgrade/patching activities.
- Coordinating with functional teams, developers and clients business units.
- E-Business application and database administration tasks.
- Performance tuning problem determination, analysis and correction.
- Creating and maintaining environment run books and procedure documentation.
- Emergency response in a 24*7 production environment.
Requirements
- Proven working experience as a Database Administrator.
- Hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications.
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL.
- Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding.
- Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools.
- Familiarity with programming languages API.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
- BS degree in a computer discipline.
- Relevant certification in Oracle Cloud Infrasturcture (OCA, OCP).
- Good knowledge of at least one operating system: Linux, Unix, Solaris, Ubuntu, Windows. Preference is Linux operating system (e.g. Red Hat), but prior experience as an administrator or architect in any of the well-known operating systems is also helpful.
- Good understanding of networking: TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, DNS. Familiarity with these concepts before pursuing a role as a cloud architect.
- Computer programming languages: You will need at least a minimal understanding of a programming or scripting language. This is probably not a must, but it will definitely help.
- Security: Security in the cloud is important, and consequently, a high-level understanding of key security concepts is a must for a Cloud Architect. So extensive knowledge of security concepts, such as Firewalls, Gateways, VPN, IPsec, DB Audit, Cloud Governance, Identity Management, etc is necessary.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Create dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI.
- Create relationships between data and develop tabular and other multidimensional data models.
- Data warehouse development and work with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS.
- SQL querying for best results, use of filters and graphs for better understanding of data.
- Work with users and team members at all levels for performance improvement and suggestions.
- Perform service-specific maintenance and administration tasks.
- View and monitor service detail and service notifications related to patching/critical updates/downtime.
- Manage accounts and subscriptions. Export metric data for a service instance.
- View account usage and provide reports.
- Manage all Service Requests (SRs) with Oracle Cloud operations to coordinate and complete any Administration tasks.
- Works with internal staff, 3rd party vendors and Oracle to update and communicate environment maintenance schedules, refresh schedules, and outages.
- Monitors and communicates system performance metrics and works with internal staff and 3rd party vendors to resolve any issues.
