Job Position – Senior Estimator

A holding company established in 1978, Al Marwan Group has grown a strong diversified portfolio in Real Estate Development & Management, Hospitality, General Contracting and Heavy Machinery trading of brand new and used equipment for the Construction, Mining, Oil, and Gas industries.
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Estimator to join our dynamic Tendering Department. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the successful preparation and submission of competitive tenders for Roads & Infrastructure projects in the UAE. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methodologies, cost control principles, and local market conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender Preparation:
- Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for all aspects of Roads & Infrastructure projects, including earthworks, pavements, drainage, bridges, utilities, and landscaping.
- Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain accurate quantity take-offs using various estimating softwars.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including material costs, labor costs, equipment costs, and subcontract costs.
- Conduct market research and price analysis to ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare and present cost estimates to senior management for review and approval.
Tender Submission:
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of tenders within deadlines.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Procurement, Engineering) to ensure all tender requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate records of all tender submissions and related documentation.
Post-Tender Activities:
- Assist in the evaluation of tender awards and contract negotiations.
- Provide support to the project team during the pre-construction phase.
- Continuously monitor and analyze project costs to identify potential cost variances.
Other Duties:
- Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in construction estimating.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of estimating processes and procedures.
- Assist in the training and development of junior estimators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 20 years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on Roads & Infrastructure projects in the UAE.
- Proven experience in preparing and submitting competitive tenders.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in the use of estimating software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Other Requested Skills:
- Knowledge of local regulations and industry standards in the UAE.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
