Job Position – IT System Administrator

Qualifications & Experience
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced to join MBZUAI in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will manage, support, and optimize IT infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable systems that support the university’s operations and academic mission.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain Azure and on-premises operations (including ESX, VXrail, etc.).
• Administer and support M365 services and mobile device management solutions (Intune, JAMF).
• Oversee and maintain Active Directory (both on-premises and cloud environments).
• Implement and manage backup solutions with Cohesity.
• Support and administer MS SQL databases in both on-premises and cloud environments.
Proven expertise in:
• Azure and on-premises systems (ESX, VXrail, etc.).
7+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT infrastructure role.
• M365, Intune, JAMF (mobile device management).
• Active Directory (on-premises & cloud).
• Implement and manage backup solutions with Cohesity.
• MS SQL administration in hybrid (on-prem/cloud) environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Hands-on experience in implementing IT security policies and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Education sector experience (universities, schools, or similar) is highly preferred.
