We’re currently looking for a Software Testing Engineer (Automation) to add to our hi-impact team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing and maintaining test suites for multiple products, and performing various kinds of testing as part of the software development lifecycle. You will interact with peers from all areas of the business to ensure delivery of a defect-free software that meets product requirements.

 

This is a great learning experience for someone that is looking to further their software testing and QA skills in a high-growth environment. Upcoming projects that you will lead on include writing automated end to end tests for both external and internal applications, and implementing best practices for software testing using necessary tools. You will be responsible for ensuring that all new developments meet stakeholders’ acceptance criteria and product requirements. There are a variety of other great feature and engineering projects in the pipeline that you will take a lead on in terms of quality assurance.

Mission

The mission of the Software Test Engineer is to take responsibility for delivering high quality software to our users with zero defects.

Accountabilities, Goals, and Outcomes

  • Own the test suite creation and maintenance for all Hello Chef applications – website, admin panel, blog, production automation tool, and the mobile app.
  • Support all new features / change requests with test plans and automation for both UI and API.
  • Define test specifications for functional, integration, performance, and security testing.
  • Own the bug triage role, assess production issues reported by customers or employees and take appropriate actions.
  • Write end to end tests using Nightwatch or Cypress for the new Hello Chef 2.0 website in the making by July 2021.
  • Write API tests using PHPUnit for the new Hello Chef 2.0 APIs in the making by July 2021.
  • Increase the automated end to end test coverage of all critical functionalities from the current 20% to 100% by December 2021.
  • Grow the existing Postman collection to cover 100% of the API endpoints with tests in place, set up Postman Monitor along with the Collection Runner and Newman to run periodic conformance tests by March 2022.
  • Create automation test suite for the upcoming Hello Chef mobile apps (Android & iOS) and integrate it into the CI/CD pipeline by October 2021.
  • Maintain the tech department’s ENPS score above 50 on a quarterly basis.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience with any JavaScript test frameworks such as Cypress, Nightwatch, Mocha, Jest, or similar
  • Working knowledge of REST API automation testing using Rest Assured / Postman or other relevant frameworks.
  • Exposure to performance testing using JMeter or other relevant frameworks.
  • Exposure to any SQL database (DML & DQL are sufficient) is desirable.
  • Excellent logical ability to understand a problem.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar
  • Strong communication skills: you possess the ability to communicate complex problems in a simple and effective way
  • Have worked in an agile and fast-paced environment (ideally at an e-commerce or logistics company)
  • Fluent written and spoken English
