Job Position – Senior Big Data Engineer / Team Lead

Are you passionate about building scalable data platforms and leading high-impact teams? Join us in Dubai as a Data Engineer where you’ll lead the design, development, and optimization of complex data ecosystems using the latest in Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and more.
What You’ll Do
– Architect and maintain Big Data infrastructure (Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, HBase, etc.)
– Lead and mentor a team of data engineers—hands-on leadership is a must
– Design high-performance data pipelines and dimensional data models
– Collaborate with BI teams to deliver actionable dashboards and reports
– Work with stream-processing technologies like Spark Streaming and Storm
– Optimize SQL and MapReduce jobs for performance and scale
– Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver data-driven projects
What We’re Looking For
– 10+ years of experience in Big Data and distributed systems
– Deep expertise in Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, and NoSQL databases like Cassandra
– Strong coding skills in Java, Python, Scala, or similar
– Experience in team leadership, project delivery, and vendor coordination
– Knowledge of Azure cloud and financial services is a plus
– Excellent SQL tuning and data modeling abilities
